Rep Power: 24 | Re: Chris Melia\'s Mono \"Raiders of the lost Arc\" The engine is a Ford Motorsport 4 bolt main, 346 stroker with forged pistons 1/4" over stock H beam rods. The steel crank is internally balanced, Roller cam with vernier adjustable belt drive. The reconditioned Gurney Westlake heads will be fitted after Mathwells supply a set of custom head studs. Original set of IDA Webers will service the induction.
The block had to be clearanced to allow the stroker crank and rods to rotate. |

I must admit when I saw the car on the trailer at the GTD AGM I thought what a pile of S......T
anybody wanting to put this back as a car has got his hands full for many a year.I've build and restored many a car over the years and I knew it would be worth doing both financially and giving job satisfaction, but it did look daunting. You obviously know what your doing and your doing it the only way it should be done "THE RIGHT WAY ".
You must keep us posted with this rebuild, it looks great.
Keep up the good work. |

Anything in any condition can be rebuilt, given time, money and most importantly...dedication.
Hats of to you Chris, you will be the rebuilder and Keeper , for future generations of racing history enthusiasts.
Oops, forgive me, i posted on your thread you wanted left clean, lol. |

It looks like you have powdercoated all of the chassis including the outside surfaces of the roof and pillars. What happens with final painting? Will you remove the coating from these places or can you just paint over top?
Cheers, Neil |

When I said a pile of ' something ' I was stating the condition as it looked at the time not as it could be. Chris is doing a good job and of course when finished it will be worthwhile, but on the trailer in bits and pieces it looked a major task. If it had been say an old triumph or ford anglia it would have been dumped.
A worthwhile project without a doubt. |
