I'm not sure the special significance but as the father of two young kids I can tell you it's their favorite book |

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 Russ -
It is all about that book. My soon to be 4yr old loves it and it became funny how many times that I have to read that during the week. Needed something odd for the car, and seemed good given the circumstances
To summarize the book, it is about Dogs, Big dogs, little dogs, green dogs, yellow dogs, and most of them doing things like driving cars...

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 Sandy:
I note that your instruments include an oil temp gauge. When I saw the instrument kit at RCR in March (as well as your awesome car) it had a clock in place of the oil temp gauge. Was that a special order? I would definitely prefer the oil temp gauge. Seems a bit more useful in a GT than a clock.

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 You will have to ask Fran about that. It was a special order, so you will have to ask the man.

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 Almost done with dash. All wires cleaned up, and looks a lot better now. Also a shot of the CNC (Brand, not CNC'ed) triple reservoir.

Link to the accessories with them CNC, Inc. - Accessories
Thanks Mark, took a long time and wasted a lot of crimp connectors after I had to clean up the many too long wires Hopefully it work

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 After having a cold the last 3 consecutive weekends I did a little (very little in the big picture...). Made some fuel pickup and returns. Cold Sawed some 2.75" round bar into some nice slices and took them over to my friends machine shop who let me do some lathe work. The hard part is the welding, and far from being good at aluminum, but got it done. Used -8AN males welded to the flanges, then pushed the -8 tubing up and welded. As you can see I'm not ready for my aircraft cert
The pics...

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 Wow, Sandy, I just spent the last hour going through your posts and checking out your progress. Great job! I won't have my RCR until October, but you've inspired me to get out to the garage and finish up a couple of other projects. When is first start?

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 Thanks BillD, and you wouldn't want me blowing holes through your chassis , your car should be getting close by my guess.
Going is slow, but starting to move a bit. Picked up some nice silicon hoses for the radiators and will get some snaps of them.
What's worse is my long old time VSE Cobra project (mid 90's) is now sitting painted and ready for some love too, it never ends, never enough time, but I'm itching to hear the aluminum 454 spark up
I did pick up a billet Knock-off/on tool from a cobra place in Florida, but it will need to be modified for the big rear wheels. I'll get a pic of that up too might be something useful for us and others.
Thanks all!
Sandy

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 Here are a couple of the front radiator hose setup, and the air bleed returns from the back of the manifold. Just drilled and tapped a 1/8" pipe on each side and used a -3 all around. I had some trouble with the Earl's all aluminum -3 hose fittings after stripping out 2 before I realized that you can't actually tighten them up. Poor design with the amount of threads, aeroquip next time. Last shot is the Knock off tool. It will work for the front's but not the back due to the large offset. I'll likely machine a hex on the back for a huge socket and see if that and the impact will do the job. Last one is the stainless tank vents.

| Re: Sandy's RCR40 Gulf Chassis #11 Looking great Sandy!
Please explain your approach for the coolant bleeder. Will it be a manually opperated valve which is periodically checked, or will you be plumbing it to a coolant tank?
Knock off tool looks sweet.
