| Re: Scotland Tornado Got the rear clip fitted yesterday although I still have to bolt the roof spider to the top of the roll bar plate. Also rough trimmed the doors ready for fitting the front apron and then the front clip. |

| Re: Scotland Tornado Ian,
Looking great! Try and make your mind up for when you get your wheels, as then you can also get the wheels powdercoated at the same time. |

| Re: Scotland Tornado Fitted the front clip last week which required to temporarily locate the front windscreen in position. This weekend managed to fit the rear bulkhead panels and the water expansion tank. Was a little tricky to fit around the rollover bar so pushed my petience a little.......... |

| Re: Scotland Tornado Finally got the rook spider fitted and the apron riveted in place along with all the aluminium angle to tidy up the finish. Fitted a couple of access plates to the wheelbay front panels as well which will allow me to access the fuel tank caps so that I can remove when the car is painted. Also prepared the door recess panels but wont install these permanently until after I have fitted the doors. |

| Re: Scotland Tornado Hi Ian, For the IVA test you’ll need to panel & seal the fuel filler neck area from the passenger compartment. Make this panel(s) removable and it will complement the access panel you added to the front wheel arch panel. Keep up the good work Regards Andy |

| Re: Scotland Tornado Got the doors prepared this weekend using 'the bits of old carpet' technique! A bit of finishing off still needed to some of the edges but I have decided to do this after I have hung the door then I can match the gap to the door frame. I'll hang the door after I have installed the door latch. |

| Re: Scotland Tornado Ian Bissett
just a question you are building a great car why are you using copper brakelines
Here in canada copper is illegle to use for brakes and fuel lines as copper is prone to failure from cristalization fron loading and unloading of the brake pressure and vibration |

| Re: Scotland Tornado Bobo,
The IVA road test requirement that we have to meet in the UK requires that the brake components need to be 'suitable to withstand the stresses, vibration and corrosion and ageing to which they may be subject' and typically, in the UK, brake lines are run in copper or kunifer. I am not aware of reported issues of crystallisation in the brake fluid assuming it is changed at regular intervals.

| Re: Scotland Tornado Bobo,
I was reading through the builds and saw your question on Ian's brake lines. As I am using the same material I thought I'd let you know that it is not copper line. It is a brake line called Cunifer a DOT approved brake line material used by Aston Martin, Porsche and Audi. It is great stuff to work with. If you get a bend not quite right you can rebend to get what you want.
Check out FedHill Brake Line - Where to buy brake line, fuel line, brake line flaring tools, brake line nuts and brake line fittings as a source of the product as well as info on it. You can also see it in my build as well.

| Re: Scotland Tornado unfortunatly it is not approved here even the old copper coated line used by vw was outlawed here looks like copper cant use it .when you get a car certified they look over all the lines and if the do not see steel they send you packin and tell you to change it all out |
