Gallardo Mesh

Hi

first excuse my English if I dont explain any point right

I have different project , it was going with me since 1997 when I was searching for diablo

I went with corvette and I played around with NOS and some many thing

now after many ideas I decided to buy Gallardo to do what I was thinking to do with diablo

I bought Gallardo 2005 and it was without transmission but the seller offer me transmission from a different car

I sold the transmission and the engine with good price , swap it to ls1 engine with dodge transaxle 42le

I will take about how I fit the ls1 engine with 42le

first I face problem to fit the ls1 engine to my car so i have no option to fit the engine because the size of the engine and the space for the transaxle center

i had two option : ether to extend the wheel base or to cut the body ( behind the driver seat )

honestly i didn't want to play with the axle and the tire and the break system so i went with the option to cut the body behind the driver seat because of the free space i have

i will stop here , and when ever i know how to post picture i will show you how i did it and continue

please who ever know how to post the picture send me PM with the steps

last : i know i did many mistake with this project but this is my first project and im learning from it moreover i am not from usa or Europe
to se other projects to avoid the mistakes , please don't disappoint me
and wait for me to post the picture and write more where i am right now

thanks

during this time when i was thinking of how to solve the space engine problem i started rebuild the ls1 engine and searching for adopter for my transaxle

unfortunately my knowledge was not so good with the sites in the internet so i want t one guy from my country to do the adopter for me

he did it right but with a lot of problem and long time and the worst thing was the finishing it didn't look got at all but it working

next i will post the adopter picture with the engine and transaxle together

the reason why i did the engine and the adopter before cutting the body because i was thinking maybe i can play with the axle but i couldn't

Hi Mish.

If you have the photo already on a picture hosting site (flickr, picasa/google) then just grab the "link" and press the little postcard image in the header and then insert the link or just paste.

Eg from flickr if you look on the bottom right of the screen and there is a right arrow in the middle, click that, select BBCode and a size then copy the line at the bottom and paste it in

DSC07497 by fastdruid, on Flickr

Picassa is similar, on the right there is a "link to this photo", select "image only (no link)", pick a size, select and copy the contents of the box labeled "Embed image" then go back here, click the postcard icon and paste that line

Finally you can upload the photos. Select "Go advanced" and then at the bottom notice there under the "Submit reply" and "preview post" there is "additional options", click the button marked "Manage Attachments". A little pop up window will appear. Select "Choose file", pick a file on your computer and then press upload. After a while you'll see the file you chose in the "current attachments" section. At this point you can either leave it or click on it (it'll open in a new window), copy the URL and press the postcard icon again then paste it.

for automatic transaxle adopter you need two part not only one plate like the manual transaxle , is was the first problem I faced then the starter also need space so I cut small part from the adopter

here is the picture for the one part of the adopter

the engine , transaxle and the adopter

attachment.php

all together finally and ready to have it on my car to see how much we need to cut from the body because the axle need to be centered to the transaxle

those four yellow circles where I have problem to solve the engine need more space

the center circle : I need to cut the body

the two side circle : the gas tank , need to cut the tips from it

the down circle : is the four wheel drive shift , already I decided to remove it because my transaxle does not support the 4wd

attachment.php

during this time I start looking for some one can help me with the harness and controller for my transaxle to ls1

I find really good person and he offer me a harness with flash controller

he told me that's it need time to prepare it then send it to me so I start working with body , tank and 4wd shift to save the time

by the way : I bought the harness from : italianknightrider and was really good person he help me a lot with many different things

Hi Mish, How much do you need to trim from the firewall, most CV joints will run at about 7deg max, that's what my old Toyota Corona runs from the factory, that means you can move the motor and trans back and gain about 50mm clearance

Paulbav >>>> thank you for your replay , believe me if I had a chance to work better than that I will but can you imagine I couldn't find any one work or accept to have my car in their garage !!!

all what you see is made by my research ,I spent many many hours just to get basic information , just give me time and see how I am going change this car

Graeme S >>>>> yes you right I could move some mm but also I will have problem if I want to change any thing on the engine like the ac compressor or the belt

I have to take the engine out for small thing in the future ,so I decide to move the firewall to have space for the engine

many thanks for your advise

so I started removing the two gas tank for preparing ( cutting the side of it )

attachment.php

attachment.php

the red mark cross is the part I need to remove for both gas tank because those part is very close to the engine ( its for safety and also for the engine to be installed in free space )

attachment.php

the E gear pumping unit , I don't need them any more so I remove it and kept it in my home garage for any need in the future

next will be the hard job ( moving the firewall ) honestly I didn't want to go with this , until I found that's I have no option

Top work, is this in real time or are you uploading pics of work you have already done? Either way enjoying it

Paulbav >>>> thanks

no my friend I have been working for this project since December 2013

but my first 3 months only was searching for a car and what I do to it
first was thinking of replica but fortunately I found this real Gallardo

I am uploading those picture of my work and I have more to come ether for the body or the engine and transaxle

here is the gas tank after I did my cut for the part that's I don't need
( the part is close to the engine side ) its been done by aluminum argon welding , another issue I faced because I couldn't find some one do aluminum argon welding specially for gas tank until I find one who did it for me

attachment.php

you can see the round close part in the red circle , Its for the gas pump and OEM Gallardo has two gas pump so I decide to close one and use only one gas pump for my engine

attachment.php

the gas tank now ready to install but I will not install it now until I finish most of the work and clean the whole engine area
