I think this is just a roller. If I read this right, for an extra 16,500 euros you have the option to buy an Audi 80 donor (V6 + transaxle, per the original spec of this replica when it was registered), or you can just buy the roller and do your own thing.
Cheers

Rep Power: 7 | Re: German V6 on e-Bay Hi,
the offered car is a roller at the moment - but if bids are rising over EUR 16500 the mentioned items like engine, gearbox and so on are included without extra charge.
But to be honest: who wants a GT40 with an Audi V6? Not my part - and the car is generally in neglected condition, it needs a complete renewal.
Regards,
Volker |

Rep Power: 12 | Re: German V6 on e-Bay I thought 16,500 euros was a bit steep for an Audi 80 . Next time I'll leave the German to a German .

Do you (or anyone else) know how many Hermsen replicas were built? I have a brochure/poster of a Hermsen sent to me a while back (see below). I think the car on this thread is the only one I've seen for sale.
Cheers

Rep Power: 7 | Re: German V6 on e-Bay Sorry, don't know much about them. I think I read somewhere that they were based around a KVA chassis but don't know exactly. There used to be a website from Hermsen which I saw last time about a year ago but I can't find it anymore. |

Rep Power: 7 | Re: German V6 on e-Bay Rob,
I'm sorry, but can't also tell you how many of them are built. As far as I know the company is out of business since at least 5 years - I've tried to get some more information, but think I must drive one day to Kranenburg where they had their workshop earlier, maybe I can find some people who know something about what happened with them.
I have the complete sales brochure which I bought more than 10 years ago - this car was originally offered with a Granada V6 engine, although there was an option for a Ford 5.0 HO V8 engine available, but must be combined with a strengthened frame.
Last year in August I got an offer for one of this cars which had a Ford Escort Cosworth engine -4 cylinder- in good condition, but it had the standard frame which is not suitable for a V8 and some other non-original parts, so I decided not to buy.
Below there's a picture of this car - judge yourself...
Cheers,
Volker |
