GTD GT40 for sale. Those of you who have read my recent posts may know that I’ve bought myself another GTD. While I love it and am really happy with it, I had a plan of work for it which has meant that I will not be in a position to drive it for many months due to work commitments (not able to spend any time in the garage fettling)
I have just been offered a fully completed ’40, and while it’s on the road and driving, it’s a LOT more money! I’ve had a think and decided to bite the bullet and spend some more so I can drive the car while I’m still (?) young!
This means I need a quick sale on the GTD that I currently own. If anybody is looking for a GTD, this could be for you. The car has been driven (by the previous owner) up and down the road (illegally, I hasten to add) so everything works as it should. In it’s entire life (it’s a 1995-ish chassis/body) so there is no wear/corrosion on anything and even they tyres have their bobbles on (they are about 3-4 yrs old)
The car is fitted with a twin turbocharged Rover V8 engine which has been fully rebuilt and runs very sweetly (see here
YouTube - GT40 twin turbo enine run ) The previous owner had trouble sorting the turbos properly so I have sourced a standard GTD rover V8 exhaust system and a manifold with holley, which will be available to the purchaser at a very reasonable price.
The car has sat in a workshop for all it’s life and the gel coat looks awful, however that’s all it is, gelcoat. Once sanded down and painted, this car will look as good as any other. It has everything apart from a set of carpets.
Due to the fact that the car has sat for so long, I was (slowly) working my way through it, sorting bits to my satisfaction. I was going to remove the fibreglass tub and replace it with ali, soundproof the firewall, etc etc. Not urgent things, just things to make it a better car.
If I’m not able to sell it, I’ll quite happily hang on to it and do the bits needed, but if you’re looking for a pretty much completed project this could be for you.
Now to the best bit…..the price. I need to move this car on quickly if I’m to stand a chance of buying another. Please don’t contact me if you’re looking to buy sometime in the future, I need it sold NOW. Because of this, I’m looking for offers around £14,995.
