It has been for sale for some time now....as I recall the asking price was in the range of $1.5M-2.0M. If it was a LeMans winner that would be cheap! As a stand by car it may be a little overpriced but who knows. Likely, there's some rich fella out there that wants to add an original to his stable and is willing to pay a very high price for it. Beautiful car!

The car Motor Classics has for sale is original Mk II GT40 #XGT-3, not #1047. I don't know why 1047 is being associated with the Motor Classics car, as no confusion exists historically about the identity or history of the respective cars. I believe the asking price for XGT-3 was $3 million. It sold from the long-time previous owner at around $1.5 million about 2 years ago. #1047 is presently at Finish Line in Nevada undergoing a restoration, BTW.
