Due to a change in commitments my wickedly fast road / race GTD40 could possibly be for sale!

GT40 MkI Re-Creation - GTD Chassis heavily modified and developed principally for UK and European circuit racing.

Brief Description
This car was built from 1990 in the style of the Alan Mann 1966 GT40, dark blue with centre stripes and rear deck air-intake scoops (white stripes since removed but can be reinstated if required) then highly developed by the Porsche Racing Driver and Race Development Engineer Neil Bainbridge (now BS MOTORSPORT - Porsche specialists - race preparation - cars for sale - parts for sale ) in response to ongoing testing and racing. She was raced for five years in the Sports GT Championship, Super GT, Super Sports, Winter GT, Special GT with a foray into the Brighton Speed Trials and FIA World Sports Car Championship.

History
She was placed second in the 1995 Sports GT Championship, third in 1994 and fourth in 1993. 1994 Driver of the Year, 1993 Spirit of the Championship Award with short-held lap records during those years at Oulton Park, Snetterton and Donington.

Latterly used for sprints, hill climbs and track days, won the 2007 GTD 40’s Car Club Sprint & Hill Climb Championship.

Wheels: Revolution split rims on car with Avon CR6ZZ 295/50x15 Rear and 215/50x15 front.
2 x further sets of Revolution split rims, together 6 nearly new Dunlop M racing tyres.

Car will be competing at Gurston Down near Salisbury on Sunday 22nd June and Longleat on the 28th if you want to come and support the GT40's and Vipers there will be several!

I didn't know there was a GT40 so close to my old home town of Chippenham. I visit there quite regularly, but only once so far in my GT40 (MDA). Would love to compare notes sometime and when you have sold yours and need a "40 fix" give me a call, I don't need much of an excuse to climb in and head for the country.

Chris - Whenever you are in the area let me know, it would be great to meet up with a fellow GT40 owner - you never know I may just take you up on your kind offer one day!

We are off to St Goueno, France for their hill climb at the beginning of August, so if there are any GT40 fans in the Brittany area come and watch the fun!

As its getting towards the end of season the price for this awsome beast has been slashed to an eye watering (for me!)

Got to be fantastic value - you could pay that sort of money for the engine alone!

Far easier to make this into a superb air conditioned road car (if thats what you really want), than to make a standard car in to a race car of this specification!

Time to raid the piggy bank - perhaps!

Julian, You are going to have to be very careful at Brighton so as not to damage your car and put off potential buyers. Race engines can be quite quirky and tempremental at the best of times. Suggest you go really slow........:-) See you at Brighton!
