Re: CAV 1A32MONOB66 - For Sale 1965 Mk1B

She's a stunner Tom. Absolutely beautiful. Attractive pricing too.

I have a friend in WA State here who is looking for a CAV or SPF, and he's asking me to share insights on CAV, have a couple questions: has the 016 received any special treatment (LSD or ??)? Also, she has the stock/factory cast uprights of the early mono's, correct?

Thank you Tom. You're going to miss your CAV!

Re: CAV 1A32MONOB66 - For Sale 1965 Mk1B

Yes, those are the cast uprights. They also have the upgraded fasteners on the lower end, as recommended. The 016 is from the Audi 5000 and is rated for 400+ hp. It was also used in the turbo application for Audi but I don't know if it has an LSD. I've not tracked the car but it hasn't ever slipped so I don't know. If he is interested, I may even work in shipment as I could trailer it through Oregon.

Tom,

Thank you, understood on all. Sounds like a solid runner. I'll pass the info along. His name is Tom too, probably be calling you this week.

Good luck with the sale!

Re: CAV 1A32MONOB66 - For Sale 1965 Mk1B

As my son reminded me, I should clarify the horse power ratings. The original build of the engine rated it at 462hp with leaded racing gas at the flywheel. To make the car more streetable, we de-tuned it using 91 octane pump gas to 339hp at the rear wheels on a chassis dyno. This was done with the expertise of a factory rep from Electromotive - the maker of the ignition software - and a race mechanic. All records are included.

Also, a laptop with the software and some spares come with the car. Spares include a pair of extra knock-off hubs.
