MDA GT40 in Ohio *SOLD*

I'm selling my GT40 project. Busniess changes for me over the last few years, and a build a bit more difficult than I had hoped, plus a wife asking for a Chrismas gift of listing the car for sale has put me here.

I bought the deluxe kit from MDA with everything needed to complete the build less wheels, tires, engine, and guages. I built a Classic Roadsters Cobra before this and tried to outsource parts to save money.....it didn't, hence the reason for the deluxe kit. I'll list the parts I have, if you think I may have missed something (I just may, I am getting older) just ask and I'll verify.

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

Oh yea, I have more photos on our old computer that our kids use. As I get time, I'll pull some pics from that computer and add to the list.

In addition, the rolling supports that are under the car go as well. No sense in having to make your own set.

Jim

Sad to see you have callled time on the project, hope the car finds a new owner soon. Best wishes for the New Year

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

Thanks Steve,
I, like Chris, have decided priorities had to be made, and business comes first. Good holidays to you.

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

I've found a couple photos of the wheels that I have for the car.
Also, I forgot to mention that I will entertain reasonable offers on the car.
Thanks

I still need to get a couple photos of the dash and seats. Will get those posted this weekend.

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

would you be interested in trading for a 78 Porsche 930 with a slant nose kit and a 88 porsche 911 targa?

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

Sorry Bill, I'm pretty sure the wife would divorce me over that deal. I'm trying to thin the herd, so to speak, around my place and I'm going to have to reinvest in my business and my children's college fund. It was never supposed to take me this long to build the car, but our business plans changed after the 2008 meltdown, and I've not had to spare time to finish the build, and spare the extra coin to pay a builder to finish it.

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

Price lowered to $37,500. I also have a full instrument set for the car. I completely forgot about them but stumbled across them in the basement the other day. Only thing needed to complete the car is the bodywork, assembly of mechanicals, tires and engine.

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

Jim, sold my era gt40 two weeks ago (red) looking at yours. If i put in a sbf do i have to do anything with the water pump? Is the renault box strong enouth with the a 400 hp sbf. Pictures og dash, seats, carpeting? Kind regards domenic

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

Domenic,
I'm going on a family trip with weekend, but when I get back, I'll try and get you the pics you're requesting. As far as the waterpump, no, you don't need to do anything special, the firewall cover has a hump to clear the waterpump. The Renault is plenty strong enough for 400 hp. That's what I was planning to build my 289 up for. I do know that the main clearance concern on the MDA's was the distributor. You need to use the smaller diameter body.

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

I finally got around to getting the pictures of the seats, carpet, dash, and instruments that are included in the sale of the car.

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

Jim,
Do you still have the car? I'm looking to sell off a couple of English Motorcycles but time is not working in my favor. Like you, I run my own business but the reality is that the business runs me.

Re: MDA GT40 in Ohio

I feel your pain, just got two hours of sleep last night working on a bid for today. Did wind up being low bidder, but man, the hectic pace of bidding, paperwork, keeping the guys going really wears you down. Back to topic, yes I still have the car.
