This should give the late Saturday nighters a chance to get out of their pits and get the cars started.

Regards,
Ian | 7.30/8.00 it is then.
But it looks like there won't be many cars there, judging by the response!
Cheers

Rep Power: 11 | Re: Club AGM Shame to see we only managed to end up with 6 in the convoy this year, I think there were 11 in the previous 2 years. Think there were 25 on the club stand though, which is still pretty good considering the weather was 'changeable'.
When Desmond asked "who thinks they've driven the furthest to get here today?" (presumably also meaning in a '40) I didn't think of piping up as I was sure people must have come from further afield than myself, and the 'award' went to the guy from Manchester, but later I thought to myself "I travelled further than that", so I just checked google maps (sad I know, but I was just curious) - Manchester=117m, my house=143m. Anyway, I'm not bothered, I just know to speak up next year!
Cheers,
Max

We travelled down from Carlisle - 216miles each way!
Hoped to stock up on mugs and tee shirts, but nothing to be seen.
Always next year.
A very good display of cars, though.
Geoff.

Rep Power: 11 | Re: Club AGM The new club merchandising guy (Paul Kinghan) had t-shirts, polo shirts, paddock shirts, baseball caps, umbrellas etc. But no mugs. Also don;t think they were put out on a table in the marquee or anything (well not that I saw anyway).
There also seeemd to be a distinct lack of club membership forms etc.
I think at the biggest event of it's type in the year there should have been a bit more effort to get these things organised better (especially after a long winter waiting).
I know this will probably stir up a hornet's nest, and people will cry "you do it then" etc. but I am just making observations that I would have made at the AGM, had there been time...
Actually I have a couple more observations to make but will post these separately.
Cheers,
Max

Rep Power: 11 | Re: Club AGM Ok, here's another observation that will probably increase my odds of being labelled a whinger! Again, I would have raised this at the AGM had there been time for such issues to be raised.
I don't know how many other people feel the same way, but as we are the GT40 Enthusiasts Club I don't feel it is right for us to have other marques in the main 'line up' on our club stand. I do not want to mention any in particular as I don't want to make this personal, just a general observation that I feel club members should consider.
Some club members who brought other marques parked them discreetly out of the way, or at the back of the display. If others were always instructed to do this it would leave the main display to be of just GT40s, which I feel is much more inkeeping with the club's image etc.

Rep Power: 11 | Re: Club AGM Ok, here's my last one for now, but this is more of a positive suggestion than a whinge.
Similar to the register, and the info Tim has collated from the membership forms etc. wouldn't it be nice to have this info presented in a standard format, with club logo etc for all GT40s on display?
A few other clubs do something similar, but on a smaller scale, and sometimes not all the same format. I think it would look really good/professional having all cars on the stand with matching info sheets.
Maybe we could get matching (cheap) frames for them, of just clip frames?
Cheers,
Max & Maxine

With regard to the information sheets, it would be nice but I can see problems with knowing who will be attending a show. As you know nobody knows what cars will be attending until the day and it would not be practical to do them for all the cars in the club.
Just my initial thoughts
Brian.

Rep Power: 11 | Re: Club AGM Brian,
How about then a standard club 'template'/form being produced, which is downloadable from our website. Make it a standard size (e.g. A4), which then anyone can print out & fill in (or more preferably, fill in typed then print out.
Then it's down to the individuals to do this (if they want), and frame etc (though the website could suggest a common style). It is also then down to them to bring along with their cars, not the comittee.
Need:-
Club Logo/details
Space for a photo
Table for all key info/features (similar to the form sent at renewal time).
Cheers,
Max

Of course it will still need Dave Champ to update the website to incorporate.
Cheers,
