Blackpool Sprint

I called over to the TVR Club Blackpool Sprint to see club member John Bate run. The sprint is run on the promenade next to the sea very much like the Brighton sprint. It is basically a 1/4mile drag race. It seemed to be mainly TVRs of the V8 or late model types with the odd bike engined 7 type. John did well despite our cars not being set up for drag racing, winning second in class and can be seen here collecting his trophy. I can't tell if he looks pleased or just astonished!

Nice to see a varity of events going on and members participating. I'm sure we a have all been getting out there, but we don't publicise it enough.

John's trophy looks better than the ones the guy's in the yellow shirts in the background got!

The guys in the yellow shirts were giving out the T shirts to the winners. The main prize was a nice engraved glass tankard.

AJB is a fantastic car. I saw it in the flesh at Goodwood several years ago. It's nice to know its still out and about.

BTW, that's a really nice race suit. Anyone know what make/where to get?
