12th Scale Gulf GT40

As many of you will know GMP have recently released the long awaited 1/12th scale diecast model of 1075. The US price is a very reasonable $499.99 in view of the excellent detail the model offers with some 400 parts. However, the UK retail price is a not so reasonable £599.99 !!! I've recently received my model from the States and even paying customs duty and VAT totalling £117 I've saved around £200 on the UK price. Looks like there's a bit of profiteering going on with UK retailers as I'm sure they also get bulk discounts on the US price.

The model is simply superb with quite staggering detail. Therer are some great photos of the model on motorsportcollector.com.

For an extra $100, they'll sell you a model that's dirty.

Piity they cannot do away with those wing mirrors. And at that price moulded in the proper quick release door handles!

Mine arrived without the wing mirrors. I thought it was a mistake at first but subsequently found out that the photos are of a pre production model before GMP decided to delete the mirrors altogether.
