Creating the Ford GT40 by Carrol Smith

Anyone know were I can buy this book or does someone have one they would like to trade? I have several interesting books in duplicate - email me if you are interested. It seems all of the book dealers are out of stock and no committment to when they might receive.

In July, someone mentioned that the book often delayed book won't be out until December (or later).

Amazon will let you pre-order the book for $40, but they don't say when it will be available.

I preordered the book from Amazon some time ago and they recently notified me that they had no shipment date and they cancelled the order.

Re: Creating the Ford GT40 by Carrol Smith

Looking around the SAE website (Amazon lists them as the publisher), I didn't find "Creating the Ford GT40", but I found two more books by Carrol Smith that I didn't know about (the second book was edited by him).

--------

"Engineer in Your Pocket" - $15

http://www.sae.org/servlets/productD...&PROD_CD=B-789

"This handy little book belongs in the pocket of every race engineer, student, or enthusiast. A compilation of Smith's extensive knowledge gained over the past 40 years as a race driver and engineer for many winning teams, Engineer in Your Pocket is laid out to make problem solving as simple as possible. When used in one direction, it lists handling problems and their possible causes. Flip the book over and the other side presents causes first and their possible effects.

The perfect guide to hands-on troubleshooting, this 32-page book fits in your pocket and is laminated to protect against grime and weather."

--------

"Racing Chassis and Suspension Design" - $100

http://www.sae.org/servlets/productD...&PROD_CD=PT-90

"Hand-selected by racing engineer legend Carroll Smith, the 27 SAE Technical Papers in this book focus on the chassis and suspension design of pure racing cars, [...]

These technical papers, written between 1971 and 2003, offer what Smith believed to be the best and most practical nuggets of racing chassis and suspension design information."
