What a nice piece of kit. Wish I had the room for one.

Yes, my brother and I are buying one each.

Re: Car lift...

Paul,

Like everyone else, on the wish list. Certainly beats crawling unber the car for oil changes. There a number of identical units available in aus for similar price with castors. I am lucky for height in the shed, maybe Santa could kind this year!

Re: Car lift...

Yes nice but headroom is a problem. How about this one, it's lighter and cheaper and seems to do most things?

Re: Car lift...

Hellem,

I doubt I would be able to to drive the 40 over a mid lift system not enough clearance. I suspect the attraction to most of us is the ability to lift our cars for servicing without to much bending and crawling on hands and knees (getting to old for that!) Additionally the 4 post type lift system would provide the potential for parking underneath the lift for another car where space is at a premium. Fully appreciate that for some height is the issue which would need to be addressed with a 4 post lift system. The system that I am interested in is TUFFLIFT HOISTS - Welcome to Tufflift's web site which is sold by an agent in Aus.

Re: Car lift...

I've been in touch with the Dutch company that sells them, and was told that providing moving parts are kept well greased and the electrics are boxed up in a waterproof casing, then it's fine to store and use outdoors. I'm buying one for sure!

Re: Car lift...

Best thing I put in my garage (other than the 40!) was the 4 post lift. For cost comparison, I paid £500 for a 2nd hand unit and then £750 to have it professionally installed and seviced/refurbished. Recessed it in the floor 7 inches so it is a flat drive on and with a 12ft 3 inch internal ridge height, I can get full lift with the 40 on with the rear clip up. Everyone should have one!

Hi Andrew,
How much head room would you need for this lift?

Re: Car lift...

I have a 4 post lift that holds the T70 project, and allows another car to be parked underneath when I am not working on the project. The bottom of the rafters in the ceiling are 10'6" off the floor, and positioning the lift at the top lock gives about 4" clearance between the roll bar and the door lift bracket (which is about 10" below the middle door track). the lift is then about 10" above the roof of the car below.

Hope this helps.

Re: Car lift...

Hi Pete,

The propark7 lifts to 1.8 mtres so for total height requirement you would need to allow for the height of the car on the lift. I am fortunate that my shed side walls are 3.5mtres plus additional height with gabled roof, may be an issue if trying to use in a domestic garage. I am looking at the propark 9 which will give me capacity to lift my sprinter van if needed, capacity of this lift is 4ton.

Certainly seems a good way to get safe access under our cars without using jacks and car stands and storage\space benefits. One thought did occur to me though is I suppose the concrete floor may be warmer to lay on in Queensland than in Melbourne!
