GTD Spindal flex revisited

I am new to this site so u obviously go back looking at older threads with interest.
Maybe this will help GTD owners with stub axle flex.
Refering to thread by Fred Vidal aug/28/04.
It is commen practice in racing curcles of production type cars to make bearing spacers to reduce stub axle flex.
A steel sleeve (Tapered) to suit stub axle is machined to fit between the inner & outer wheel bearings.
I found making sleeve slightly shorter by a fraction of a MM then shimming was a lot easyer.
With the spacer in place & shimed u tighten the wheel bearing nut up tight, What u have done is increased the diameter of the stub axle & it will reduce flex.
I hope this helps Jim C.
