Rep Power: 9 | Inboard Rear brakes Would you think inboard rear brakes on a GT40 is a sin. I am thinking about doing it, but would like everybody's thoughts. |

this post if memory serves me right has a UN1 with inboard brakes fitted. It was for Sale by Simon and the ebay doesn't look like it sold.
My opinion is it is a good idea - not as per original but then it will reduce unsprung weight and thus assist with handling.

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Inboard Rear brakes The reduction in unsprung weight has to be a plus, but my guess is that you would have to look closely at cooling.
Kind Regards,

Rep Power: 7 | Re: Inboard Rear brakes In addition to unsprung weight I think that inboard brakes that are duct cooled have a better constant of temp, no massive cool off on long straights.
But they can increase shaft load under braking which can effect rear suspension geometry, leading to uneven tyre wear. |
