Steering rack

Can anyone recommend a centered rack and pinion steering rack that could be used in both LHD and RHD configurations, also with power steering (will be electrically driven)?

Can't help with the rack, but why not use an electric column?

If I remember correctly the new Fiesta ST has an electric rack rather a traditional power steering set up.

The Porsche 911 racks are centered. I think they were also used on the 914's. I don't know how long they are though. They show up on eBay quite frequently. Most of the racing supply houses will supply custom length racks brand new that are centered too. A great option if you don't mind spending a little more.

 

What racing supply shops can you recommend for centered custom racks?

Oops - I read your post so quickly yesterday, I missed the power steering part. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bash.gif

Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies has these custom racks, but they don't have PS.

Summit Racing has a "Universal application" section of their Rack and Pinions, but they all look like LHD Ford racks, so I don't what's up - maybe call them.

There must be others out there, I just don't know of any off the top my head.

Try Coleman Racing, I believe the site is colemanracing.com. I believe they have racks that have extendable ends to space the inner tie rod pivot to your desire.
