Caliper Recognition

Ok Long shot

Does anyone recognise these caripers - need a pad retaining spring (one gone AWOL and another fairly rough)

They bolt directly to the Granada uprights

They are AP calipers 4 pot

I have been told they might be of a Land Rover / Range Rover

Any ideas so I can orde the spares

Ian

Ring AP and quote the numbers - they should be able to tell you what they came from. I think the springs come with new pads as a complete item.
Re Ricks message - not sure if Princess had 6 pots?

Yes possibly Austin Princess - someone on other V8 board said they were direct fit to the Ford uprights so that makes sense.

Spmeone else said Range Rover

Tried AP and they say speak to stockists but also said they think it may be LDV or London Taxi TX1

I'll keep trying as someone must know

Ian,

Can you not just take a pad into your local pad supplier and check it against the pad recognition charts in their parts book?

Regards

The calipers have had spacer's fitted to allow use on the vented disc. May be a non std part. Ian you could make up an anti -rattle clip out of some hi-tensile lacing wire. Dont use our KIWI No8, its a bit heavy for this application.

Over at the V8 Forum they recon they are from an Austin Princess Van den Plas - the higher spec car had the vented disk.

I phoned my local factor company and he recons he can have a set tomorrow - time will tell if they are the right length

thanks to all

Ian

They look like Princess to me too. I had them on my previous car, along with those spacers to make them wider for the vented discs.
Standard Princess pins weren't long enough, but I got some extra long split pins from a car show, which were perfect. I also seem to remember having to modify the standard spring clips because they wouldn't fit the extended width either.

Howard, The anti rattle springs should look a bit like this & fit over the pad retainer split pin with a piece of tube to hold them apart.
Oop's sorry guy's ,tried to do a dwg - did not work out will have to take a photo later.
