springs and ride height questions

When I put in my new shocks and springs on the front the ride hieght was way to high. It needs to sit about 1.5 inches lower. I have 600lb springs and a wheel rate of 285lbs. If the car weighs 2400lbs, how much is likely on the front? If there was 1200lbs on the front vs 150lbs now (bare chassis) how much compression would i get on the spring? The springs are 8 inch. I could go to 7 but I want to keep the spring perch as low on the shock as I can.

So, for every 285lbs the car should drop 1 inch, right? So if I have 500lbs more per front wheel, the car should drop 1.75 inches, right? (500/285=1.75)
