Rep Power: 3 | CAV wheel studs I am having difficulty obtaining wheel studs for my CAV (No.51). The autofuturia CAV studs don't quite fit. The studs are 1/2" unf with 16mm to 16.2mm knurl diameter. Can anyone help?. |

Rep Power: 12 | Re: CAV wheel studs Hi Syed,
CAV Canada has wheel studs custom machined to fit the pre 100 s/n CAVs.
We've had to replace them due to loose fit or short length. Either way, our parts start out life as a race car wheel stud for use on high horsepower drag or circle track cars so there tough enough.
Photo attached is from a customer stub axle prior to being fitted to our new steel uprights.
Good timing on your part, another batch is at the machine shop now. Hope that helps.
Cheers

Rep Power: 4 | Re: CAV wheel studs Sorry, I'm probably being majorly slow here - but don't the CAV gt40s have pin drive hubs? In other words, pin drive with a spinner rather than traditional wheel studs....? |

They say a pictures' worth a thousand words, sometimes it raises more questions along the way!
You're correct, the CAV are pin drives, however the studs retain the disc rotor and knockoff stub axle by custom machined nuts which in effect become the drive pins. This is standard stuff amongst GT40 and Cobra replicas.
Cheers

The knurls are 15.81mm dia. They will press into to drive flanges no problem. I'll email you the costs.
Cheers
