Roll cage questions

Hi:

I need a bit of help. All of my racing has been on oval tracks so I am not familiar with NASA or SCCA rules. I would like to track day my car once finished, but will not with out a roll cage. Is there a standard size that is used amongst these sanctioning bodies? If so what diameter and wall thickness of tubing is required?

Thanks Dave

Re: Roll cage questions

I'm not positive but I believe it's 1-5/8"x .125wall. I was going to go to the salt flats, they have pretty strict rules. Another one is the Silver State Classic, they have different speed classes. The worst thing is the fuel tank, you have to leave space in the spare tire area, the original location won't work for the more strict rules.

Re: Roll cage questions

For NASA info go here and look around the site. Use their search function.

HPDE: Rollover Protection

For SCCA you will have to go to your region and see if you qualify to race with them. Lots of divisions and each has its requirements.

SCCA Sports Car Club of America
