Tyre recommendation for Street + some track days

Hi!

Looking for suitable tires to my BEC GT40. 17" wheels on it. Mostly street usage with some trackdays planned.

Saw that Superformance is using Yokohama Avid.

Any other options you can recommend (or NOT recommend)?

Tire size planned is 225 mm front and 275 or 295 mm back.

Attached is some tire info you might find helpful. I used Avon CR6ZZ's as well as the crappy BFGoodrich's on my CAV. The Avon's wear pretty fast for street use but stick well....great tire.

The avon is a classic tread pattern/look, I am ok with modern tyre so grip is maximized.

Nitto NT05 looks best so far for my use I think.

I recon the Avons as best for track and perfect for road but they are in 15'

I've always been under the impression that the Nitto NT05 is more of a drag racing tire than one designed for lateral loading, with the NT01 more for road competition.

NT05Rs are drag radials. NT05s are street/road course tires: NT05 Max Performance Tire

I've run those on my Z. Very good tires. Also very expensive.

I'd strongly suggest looking at the Continental Extreme Contact DW tires.

Very highly thought of. Very good price (on closeout at Tire Rack).

I am going with the Nitto NT01, but those are kind of radical for the street.
