Holley advice please

OK....Holley 650cfm double pumper, not been used/run for a number of years, turn on the pump and petrol spurts from the top of the carb (from the choke air-horn)
I'm obviously not going to use the carb before it's been fully rebuilt, but what would cause this problem? something sticking?
Thanks
Simon

I'll take a stab at it - float stuck, float leaking, or inlet valve stuck open - not allowing the inlet valve to shut. The bowl overfills and gas starts pouring out other places.

Mike is correct. Pull off the bowls and see what you got. Then if that doesn't help pull off the mettering blocks and make sure they are free from pluged passages. Rebuild with the reuseable gaskets.
