Audi/Getrag Transaxle cooler

I found this in the latest edition of European Car. It is a picture of a 944 Turbo transmission, which as most of you know is the same as the Audi unit that many of us use in our 40s.

Notice the side cover - it has a boss and mounting point for a cooling line that runs back to the rear of the tranny. The line has cooling fins on it, all factory pieces, and this could be adapted. You'd want the side plate for the boos then you could easily do your own thing with coolers etc.

Re: Audi/Getrag Transaxle cooler

Hi Ron, I think this was mentioned in a previous post when we were discussing trying to swap a 944 turbo S ring and pinion . The Turbo 944 Turbo S box has a internal pump built in I believe that pushes fluid through that cooler.
Regards,,
