might help-

Rep Power: 9 | Re: Which Weber Setup? I like the IDf's(because I have them), they are easy to tune, my set up was all new, with excellent linkage, Each carb had the same idle, main, air corrector and emulsifier, they were all wrong for my set up, but the car ran and it was a starting place. The main advantage with IDA's that I can see is the idle mixture screws are on the inside of the carbs, not next to the valve cover, they are difficult to adjust when the engine is warmish. Fuel flow is very important to Webers and the stock fuel pumps on my CAV were not up to the job. I installed some Carter rotary pumps and now the fuel pressure is consistent.
In any event, they run like fuel injection and look sound cool as hell! |

I am interested in putting EFI with individual throttle bodies on a Ford Racing Parts 302 stroked to 342. Can you point me in the right direction for this set up.
Thanks,

Rep Power: 4 | Re: Which Weber Setup? I have bought 4 italian Weber 48 IDA from different places and some are used in VW others in V8 , my engine will be a 289 hipo and than I think it is a setup for this engine. Where can I find witch jets etc. to use in my carbs. Is there someone with that engine that have the setup to copy me?
I have the original setup for 48 IDA 4R but witch engine is this for?
Regards
Rune

Rep Power: 12  | Re: Which Weber Setup? Rune, there is no way to know which jets your car will run best on,however, here is a good starting place for the 302;
Idle jets-65
idle jet holder-120
main jets-150
air corrector-200
emulsion tube-F7: accellerator pump-50
bypass jet-50
37 mm chokes
idle set screws-3/4-7/8 out
this should get you a good running start, you can tweek from there with an air/fuel tester such as an LM-1 from Innovate. Playing with the jetting is fun when you finally understand the theory of it all. chuck |
