Southern Automotive GA

I need to get a crack in a cast iron fe repaired and was told to send it to Southern Automotive in Georgia. Does anyone have any experience with them, or any other suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Southern Automotive GA

There used to be a shop on Long Island that specialized
in repairing iron heads/blocks....can't recall the name....
Mitchell Racing would know....

Mike were you thinking about Al Maython - High Speed Salvage? If so, I was told he retired to Florida somewhere. Thanks

Re: Southern Automotive GA

Thanks Ron, I already spoke with Bill from Southern automotive. I am trying to get feedback on them before I ship them some parts. Good, bad or indifferent experiences would be welcomed. Thanks

Re: Southern Automotive GA

I don't have first hand experience with them, but I have spoken with Bill back in my might get a Cobr days. Bill Parham I think? Typically good experiences I've heard but you could look and search on ClubCobra.

Re: Southern Automotive GA

Friends of mine with Cobras swear by them. Southern has the lock on FEs. Some time ago they got hold of a large shipment of them, some of the last ones made from what I heard. Bill is an up front kinda guy. They more than anyone I know of, knows FEs. Their reputation is heads and shoulders above most engine builders. They are always sponsoring Cobra activities, runs, get to gethers etc. If I had a problem with an FE, I would go with what ever they suggest. I doubt they would steer you wrong.
