tips & contacts required for rebuilding a holley

Hi guys,
I have an original 850 DP I need to go through.

any recommendation on information for stripping / rebuilding a double pumper ?

Also, anyone care to recommend a good source for parts such as new jets, gaskets, etc.

Many thanks,
John.

Hi John,
There is a good Haynes Techbook - Holley Carburettor Manual - ISBN 1 56392 069 7 available from AmazonAmazon.co.uk: Holley Carburettor Manual (Haynes Techbooks): Books: Mark Ryan,J.H. Haynes.
Real Steel in Cowley, 01895 440505 do all the bits, trick kits, repair kits and complete carbs (as well as lots of engine stuff, oil filters etc).

John-
I'm going to buy that book Tony recommends to go with a book I've ordered that is recommended by some of the Nascar guys. It's call "Super Tuning and Modifying Holley Carburetors" by Dave Emanuel. I'll use both as I rebuild a 750 double pumper for the Pantera. I'm hoping all my questions will be answered by the information found from two different sources.

Re: tips & contacts required for rebuilding a holley

thanks guys, I'll get that book on order.

After I posted the above I found a couple of sites with info, once i dropped the '850' off the search string. Seems I should have searched for the carb model number & not its cfm. Doh !.
A couple of interesting sites I found:

Rebuild A Holley Carburetor
Amazon.com: Holley Rebuilding and Modifying (Workbench Book): Books: J Williams

Anyway, cheers all.

Of course, there's also the Holley website at Holley Performance Products.
This has tips on identification of carbs from their stamping numbers, exploded diagrams, etc. The folk at Holley are also very helpful.
