Alternative starter for Rover V8 engine

All,
I'm fitting a Rover V8 into a space frame, with not much space.
In particular, the solenoid of the starter sticks out sideways and has less than zero clearance from a strut that I don't want to cut or shave.

Is there an alternative starter with a solenoid that sticks out below?
No obstructions there.
Advice please, on makers, suppliers or cars that carried this style of starter.
