Exhaust Packing.

Does anybody know of shops selling exhaust wadding/packing close to Surrey - thats SW London - UK. I've searched and seen the posts saying about merlin and Demontweeks but just wondered if there is somewhere more local to me i can pop in and get some. Alternatively i could just use rockwool but this doesn't seem to stay in for too long.

Re: Exhaust Packing.

Any good motorcycle shop should have packing for 2 stroke motorcycle mufflers. Made for the job, wont discintergrate and blow out.

Big Triumph shop just down the road from my house - you should know the place - near a sound studio!

Re: Exhaust Packing.

Well I tried many places (Including Triumph) and the only place local that I could call into was Simpson exhausts just off the M4 in Slough. Not the easiest place to find, but hey sold me a big box - enough for two full repacks for a great price. In their workshop was a light blue 40 - I would go as far to say it was the best recreation that I have ever seen - a full steel monocoque and many original parts painted in powder blue with a single white centre stripe. The bodywork was very accurate with a driver Gurney bubble - was so good I'd have believed them if they said it was an original car. Had one engine and a spare one for it too. I took a few pics that I'll post when I get a chance.
