Rep Power: 2 | 4x2v Cobra inlet manifold I saw yesterday (at friends garage) 289-302W inlet manifold for 4x Weber IDA. Middle of the manifold is cast outline text "COBRA". Didn`t catch any cast numbers from it, there maybe is. It came from usa few years a go.
It`s at some point modified; from rear there is extra water pipes which are connected to front twin main water outlets. For smoother water temp in heads. Nice bended pipes and good welds anyway.
It´s rare, i know, but is that -right- manifold for modified 302 -engine (in 40)? And, if someone knows, the price level for that?
Thanks
Jyrki

Rep Power: 2 | Re: 4x2v Cobra inlet manifold Edit:
is any ideas how old this manifold is; still in production or not etc, originally from GT350 etc?
Is it good item, or useful anyway, asking these `couse price is "not cheap".
But it`s so beautifull

Rep Power: 13 | Re: 4x2v Cobra inlet manifold The value (or the purchase price you will end up paying) really depends on if the intake is an original (1960's vintage), VS: a current reproduction unit. The original intakes should have casting numbers that will help establish the age of the intake, but not necessarily 100% in all cases. Some reproductions have been cast with part numbers also, so it sometimes makes it difficult. The deciding factor will end up being a decision based on the history of the part, and how many "owners" that can be identified over a period of time.
Then again, it may be to your advantage to go the reproduction route.....but make sure you pay attention to how the linkage for the carbs hook up to the intake (very important).
Good luck,

Rep Power: 6 | Re: 4x2v Cobra inlet manifold The casting number on mine is C6AE 9425-A. I believe the 6 indicates 1966, E an engine part, and 9425 an intake manifold, but someone else around here can probably give you the whole casting number list. Mine has a FoMoCo logo on it but I have no idea if Ford put that on all their manifolds or not. |

Rep Power: 10 | Re: 4x2v Cobra inlet manifold Does it look like this?????
If it dosent have any stamping marks its a repro, I spend a few hours cutting down the letters and the two bosses flat on mine. Original inlets had FAV cast on the top.

Cobra -sign is very similar. If my memory serves me well, there is some kind of ribbing in whole area where sign is. Repro then.
I try to put fotos after next weekend.
