Avaiad Oil pan drain issue.

I drained the oil from my car as I was going to take the pan off.

I usually run the engine up to operating temp before doing this so the oil will drain quicker but did not have that luxury this time...(don't ask)

In any case, after letting it drain out for about two days (with the back of the car tiled up as high as I dared) I removed the pan only find that there was just under a quart of oil still in the pan!

In the area that the oil pickup sits there was quite a bit of oil as there doesn't seem to be any way for the oil to leave this area other than into the pickup....

Because of the location of the drain hole, on the front vertical surface of the pan, there has to be a lip where the drain plug hole threads into the pan.

I am not that impressed with this situation.

Any thoughts?

Right.

A flush mounted one under the pickup.

Maybe I can do an air-cooled VW style plate.....
