Alan Mann Ford GT 40 engine pics

I came across this site and the engine photos may be of interest to some members. The Lotus 30 being restored was powered by a ex-Alan Mann Ford GT 40 LeMans engine with Gurney-Weslake heads. More photos on this site: www.lotus30.com - Image Gallery - Engine

I notice the valve covers are much lower than the reproductions.

Re: Alan Mann Ford GT 40 engine pics

Interesting pic's, I think that particular motor might have been a 'dry deck' version , note the coolant is 'tee'd' off as it enters the timing cover to also go to the lower front corners of the cyl heads. GW Rocker covers for -genuine- heads did not require depth as rockers etc were located deeper in the head castings.
