Crankshaft Oil Slinger

Hi,

I have fitted some Cloyes timing gears and an aftermarket alloy timing cover to my 351W engine. However, I cannot now fit the crankshaft oil slinger as it fouls the timing cover. How important is the slinger and would it be OK to leave it off.

Regards

Nick
