How far off the top of the webers is that top plate?

I would imagine that the trailing edge of it is just shy of the glass in the rear clip.

It's to help contain the reversion cloud off the top of the stacks.. The cloud is pure poison to the lexan not to mention being very explosive..

Depending on your camshaft, you may or may not need it... Observing my engine on the dyno, the only time there was a cloud was when the valves floated momentarily..

Thanks for the help. I am going to finish the fabrication tomorrow. I have my carbs torn apart to polish the INSIDE on the venturi's and put in the 45mm chokes. This car is going to scream!

Dean, you can look at this Top Gear vid of one of the original GT40 race cars to see how much clearance is provided (rearward shot through the glass).
