Oil Pump Driveshaft Washer

I've asked the question in my build thread, but incase you don't click on it...

I've, ahem, mislaid the washer for the driveshaft on the oil pump. Munroe's book says it is a Tinnerman washer?

Does anyone know what size I should be searching for, or a suitable alternative (in the UK). Thanks

Brett

You should be able to get that washer at any Ford parts counter. It is merely an internal toothed star washer that keeps the shaft from pulling out of the motor when you remove the distributor (or turn the engine upside down on the engine stand).. Make sure the washer is on the shaft between the block and the oil pump.

Hi Brett --

Yes, that's what you need. Just need to get the right diameter for your oil pump driveshaft...

Here is one installed on the shaft. Not a whole lot of high-tech going on here. It touches only the shaft and only comes into play when the distributor is removed. Just need an interference fit over the shaft is all..

(Not my pic - snatched from the web)
