1966 gt40 mkii 427 so

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the 66 cars' 427 SO's had the one off NASCAR crankshaft and NASCAR rods (requiring the one off bearings)? Or, did the various engine teams diverge from NASCAR racing and install the "Lemans" rods in the GT40 (hence the name, 'Lemans rods')?

The 'first' 427 rods were p/n C5AZ-6200-D and normal width, the wide rods are p/n C7OE-6200-A so based purely on the p/n date would suggest they were not used in 1966, however as Jay Cushman has often pointed out date codes & part numbers do not always tally up with 'experimental' stuff. Its a pity that the aftermart crank suppliers dont seem to have steel forgings that will allow 3.75 or shorter strokes at a reasonable price for those who wish to rev them a bit higher.
