Rep Power: 15 Julian West has a spectacular aura about
painting over powdercoat

All,

I'm preparing to re paint my chassis, which as been previously powder coated & am unsure what is the best paint to use.

I don't want to spend thousands of hours rubbing the powder coat off & don't know the best paint to use. Have considered POR-15 but it seems to be for use on bare metal.

I'm looking for a satin black finish.

Can anyone suggest a suitable product available in the UK?

Re: painting over powdercoat

Hi Julian,
I repainted my chassis in satin black over the original GTD finish, originally red,
I used a Trimite paint-AE262 range 2 pack acrylic- non toxic also.
I prepared the surface by cleaning first with cellulose thinner to soften the GTD finish and then spray painted in the 262.
trimite paints are in Middlesex.
The finish is as good as the day it was applied, 4 years later
