Cheap Paint

For those who are " budget challenged", consider using
Kirker urethane paint system. I've done two cars and
am happy with both. www.smartshoppersinc.com

The price really got my interest. I think with enough patience I can do the body work and I believe in the benefits of using a paint "system" rather than mixing products.

Does the product require HVLP spray equipment or can it be sprayed with an old pressure pot type spray gun?

Have you had any problems with crazing/cracking?

Did you use their candy paint on either project?

Thanks, Mike!

Doug

I sprayed my Cobra with an old pressure gun...and my T-3 with an HVLP gun.
Both work fine....but the HVLP makes much less overspray.
One item I discovered....urethane is thick paint and not happy if pressure
is too low. I initially tried painting at 15 psi ....but came out too rough.
However once I upped the pressure on the HVLP gun to 25 psi...it went on
real nice.

Never tried the candy...Cobra was Viper Red (no clear coat)...and the T-3 was Viper yellow with clear coat. No quality problems so far.
Best of luck.

Thanks, Mike. I appreciate the information.

I think I'll give it a try--time to get an HVLP spray gun. I just haven't had a project that needed one since they became such a big environmental issue.
