Unhappy Door Number Lights

I want to install the door number lights found on many originals. Has anyone done this? I have the lights but no bulbs. Any idea of the bulb part number?

Thanks

Hey Bill - Got mine through Vintage Motor Spares. They are Lucas L534 style and came with the bulbs. I'lll have to pop them out to see what kind of a bulb they use but it may be posted in their website.

Thanks Chris. I got mine from Finish Line, but I like the looks of yours better. I'll contact that vendor in the morning.

Cheers

Door Lights?

Sorry to pish on your party Chris,
Those lights would be fine , if they illuminated the number plate.
Check out the lights doing the same job in 'Ford that beat ferrari '
they are a different shape.
I closely inspected said lights at Le Mans this year, on the cars that came 1st/2nd and 3rd in 1966.
They are a teardrop shape.
Check out the photo on page 103 of 'The Ford that beat....'
top left photo on that page.
Hope this helps.

I'd like to source the teardrop items like the attached picture, has anyone a clue to the origin?

Thanks for the heads-up guys. I'm going to light them up and see what I get out of them. If no good, do you have a part number? My car is going back to the paint booth anyway so no biggy if they don't work.

Cheers-

Chris

Well, after closer inspection and reasoning to why I purchased these lights to begin with I've concluded that the teardrop style were not a standard lighting type for all GT's. I've found many GT's like 1076 had a similar style to what I am using. It seemes like the teardrop style were used on the MK II's and Mk I's but not all. I may not have the period correct part number for my Lucus lights but they do look close and are designed to reflect the light forward on the surface.

Some pics to validate my researching?

door Number lights

Mk II s used the tear drop shaped lights, which came from some american pick up of the period. Try this part no. C6AZ - 13564- B. the Holman & moody car had two per door. Mk I s had the lucas 534 lamp which was used on many things including MGB's.

Try a 1966 Ford Ranchero - Licence plate light "without step down"

Check it's what you are looking for before you buy.

We get them from Finish Line. I've used them on our Competition Cobra replicas (L550):

Here is the link to the (L534):

Carpenter's have no stock but the part number is correct. Not too sure about the car model however.

Sandy,
They are definitely from a 1966 Ford Ranchero.
See the little beauties hanging on to the fender ?
