Inside Door Release

I have noticed many of the GT40s have an inside door release handle that comes up through the door. There is also a plate mounted on the door.

Can I use these?

They are the windshield bezels for AC Cobras. If it needs to be longer, I can have the machinist make them accordingly.

Thanks
Bill D

Re: Inside Door Release

If RCR hangs the doors and installs the handle/latch then yes we do include the inner release...

Re: Inside Door Release

Fran:

Since you are hanging and aligning the doors on RCR GT 40 Number 40, will the handle / latch be installed as well?

Re: Inside Door Release

Bill, those certainly might work fine. The ones I've seen have a pretty narrow slot - just slightly wider than the guage of the latch. These things can rattle annoyingly and I'm guessing if the slot is not a fairly tight fit then the rattle could be even worse.... On my car the throw from latched to open is not substantial - about 1/2 inch.

Re: Inside Door Release

Bill
Cut a thin sheet of rubber (innertube material) and mount it under the plates, with a slit down the center it keeps the release from rattling and hides the slot in the fiberglass
Cheers
Phil
