The good news is that I've managed to get my hands on an inside rear view mirror for the 40. Unfortunately, the stem is less than perfect and could use some attention.
Any suggestions of a company I could contact for a little mirror "restoration?"

The stems for original 40s were only turned alloy so it won,t take much to restore other than a quick spin with some scotchbrite or similar. The angled windscreen stub needs to be clean and smooth for a good adhesive bond to the glass.
