Cool Interior mirror

Hi All

Looking at photos of original GT40s (interior mirrors Lucas type) one can see the aluminium bit that is fixed to the windscreen from the outside, in other words not fitted with a black sticky pad like new mirrors.
So whatever is used, it is clear in colour.
Does anyone know what is used and where to get it from in the UK.
I know you cannot use super glue as it will crack the windscreen.
Any help is appreciated.

Best regards
Geoff

Re: Interior mirror

I got a two pack glass bonding agent from my local autofactor. Can't remember what it was called but it did the job well enough.

Absolutely. Even with Webers.

Re: Interior mirror

Here in Oz the auto parts stores carry small tubes of mirror glue, which is clear in colour. I have used it successfully in ordinary cars. Your stores there probably have the same stuff. Just apply it to bare metal on the mirror arm base.
