Original Wiper Motors

I have been reading (drooling) about 40's for about 25 years. I have found reference to the original wiper motors being sourced from Boeing 707's.

Has anyone been game enough to use one of these in their build, and if so, did it perform adequately?

The Australian Design Rules (ADR's) we must comply with for rego require 45 sweeps per minute minimum. Do aircraft wipers achieve this speed - or conversely do they travel at 150 wipes/minute?

Boeing wiper motors are available, so exploring the possibilities.

The Boeing set up has 5 speeds (if you use the cockpit switch!)
They also run on 24 volts so when you run them on12 they run about half the speed on the plane

I have sourced 4 so far and passed them to forum members who were very happy with them, although I do not know if any have been used on a road car. ~(The Boeing motors were only used on Mk2 and Mk4 cars in the 1960's)

Oh yes and in case anyone is interested (or in the plane scrap scheme) the units asre the same on 707, 720, 727, and 737 aircraft (Or so I have been advised) but the older planes are the ones that were scrapped.

I believe the ones in the photo were from a 727
