Kva - best door mirrors?

Hi,

After years of waiting, I have just bought a KVA.

It has no door mirrors.

I suspect that the KVA door has a different profile to the '40s I have seen.

All suggestions gladly received.

Cheers,

My KVA was fitted with the Bullet style until it was repainted, nothing at present but I'm going to fit the Californians.

There was a thread some time back that discussed many different mirror options with photo's of many of thos options. A search may or may not turn it up; personally I have absolutely no luck with the forum search engine.

also what type do you want...
-mirror on door
-mirror on front wing
-mirror that you can adjust from the inside
-old style or new style

Geoff,

This solution will at least be non-destructive should you change your mind. A bit of thin aluminum drill holes, bend slightly, paint and install with longer screws in existing holes.

I had wing mirrors and found they were not adequate and much prefer this location. The mirrors are Vitaloni and widely available but many others work just fine.

Geoff,
The $1mill question. Are yougoing to have to IVA it?

If that is the case the Californians etc won't pass. I am going to try and fit some Chrylser Crossfire mirrors to mine. Not authentic, but will pass IVA and allow electric adjusment from inside the cabin. As well as having a large glass area to use!

Thanks for your interest everybody.

The car has been IVA'd but with temporary mirrors.

I'd prefer mirrors on the door.

Tragic though it is, about 8 years ago, I worked for a rally preparation company, and we made very neat carbon door mirrors for GpA and WRC Escort Cosworths.

We needed adjustable mirror glass to go into our mirror body - What did we do? - Buy quantaties of Vitaloni mirrors, and throw out the bodies, and use the adjustable glass!!

If only!

Cheers,

Geoff.
