To drill or not to drill that is the question !

Hi all, I can get around this problem but thought I'd ask anyway.
I'm at the stage on my SGT Build where the door top stainless guides are fitted to the inside of the doors and the other half to the roof of the spider. BUT the roll cage is right where the other plates are to go, there's no room at all to fix.
I can drill down through the roof of the spider, fix and then fill in at the paintwork stage.
What say you ?

If the windshield is not yet in the spider, can you take the spider loose and move it slightly to allow you room to do the deed?
Otherwise, you may have no other alternatives than what you suggested - unless you were to bond the guides in place...

Only do it after SVA / IVA as if the retainers are anything like mine they will fail the sharpedge test
How about welding onto a bracket and having the bracket welded to the roll cage - no holes to drill!

Thanks fore those comments and Ian I didn't think about the IVA sharp edges. I'll have a word with Mick @ SGT about them
Cheers
