Smiths Speedometer Cable?

I have a Smiths 200mph speedometer for my project and I'm curious as to what others have used in terms of cables. I'm using the Audi 016 gearbox and have a new cable for it but obviously it's far too short and doesn't have the correct size end for the speedo. Are there connectors available or are custom cables of correct length readily available? I know of a company in my home province that carries Smiths cables ( Custom Speedometer Tachometer Cable Smiths British ) but they are not familiar with Audi.
