Location of lower light cover

My spoiler was made differently than the original to give it better functionality. It doesn't have cutouts for the lower light covers though and I want to add those for my driving lights and signals.

Given that, I'm thinking about putting the cover on where the third photo shows it drawn in. The outer line is the outline of the cover and the inner line is where the hole will be made (to form a lip for the cover to sit on and be attached to). I plan to build up the area behind these two lines so I can sand down a recessed area for the cover to fit into and also build an enclosure for the light and turn signal.

The first photo shows the whole thing and the second the inspiration for the design.

So, is this about where you would put it?

The upper edge appears too high if you're looking to get close to original. Because the front is deformed compared to an original shape too, it's going to be up to your judgement and perspective to get them looking right.

Agreed. I knew it was up a bit but it's kind of a compromise as you say. I might lower it down a bit...inch maybe. Can't really do more than that.

Thanks.

I think you will find it looks good if you line the upper edge with the radiator opening top edge. Just take masking tape and carry the line around the curve to see what I mean.

Thanks. I'll have a look at that this evening. Got my fiberglass guy coming in Saturday to have a look at it. Don't really want to tackle making the light box with all the curves and such. Will see what he thinks as well.

Looks like this one has the lower edge in line with the top of the inlet. Probably go with this or very close to it.
