Tinting polycarbonate?

I'm getting the 3M Crystalline for the windshield on the "40. My side windows are LEXAN MARGARD polycarbonate. While I'd also like a tint on the side windows, the fellow at the 3M service center told me that I'd need a special tint for the LEXAN that breathes as the window gasses. Regular tints apparently will bubble over time when applied to plastic. He recalls seeing suitable plastic tint material at trade shows, but he does not recall the particular manufacturer or whether it will handle the gentle curve of the window. He indicated that there may also be a static cling product that may work but doesn't know where to find it.

Any thoughts or suggestions? LEXAN can be purchased with a tint but the ones I've seen available are very dark and I'd think unusable.

Veek,
Rit dye has been the goto dye for tinting plastic windshields and canopies in the model industry, just can't say I've seen it applied to Lexan (yet). The longer you keep it in the dye the darker it gets...

Yes Tom, but not with SL-C parts.
I've used RIT Dye for a number of applications.
It will work better with some plexi products, if you can completely submerge
in a high concentration of the RIT. May take several hours per part.
(Motorcycle windscreens).
