Hiding Components

RCR build, fairly straightforward. Plan to use ~400hp 302 with Inglese' and FAST XFI on top.

There is plenty of room immediately aft of fuel cells to mount fuel system and electronic components (out of sight). There is also a bit of room aft of the cabin (behind seats) for components save for the movement of the 4-link setup.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>

Other than convenience, is there any reason not to utilize these areas to stuff otherwise unattractive (IMO) hoses, wiring, valves, filters, pumps, check valves, etc?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
My objective on this thought is to build a cleaner, uncluttered looking engine bay.<o:p></o:p>

Thoughts? Thanks,<o:p></o:p>

None. I've not seen the RCR area, but on the CAV it turned out to be less room than I thought, though I was able to hide a bunch of plumbing and the return solenoid in there.

I chose to show off the pumps, regulators and filters though. For both assessablity and they're pretty IMHO.

Ron, That's a good looking setup! Obviously you've spent a great deal of time sorting it out before nailing it down - I'll do the same. It'll be tricky for sure to get everything hidden - if that's what happens eventually. The downside I can see is ease of accessability, and if I have a leak its harder to tell right off...

What is your fuel system schematic like?

Thanks,

Generally like the enclosed PDF. I used it as a guide...

I used Magnafuel pumps, filters and regulators and a JAZ surge tank rather than a swirl pot.

I have additional complexity due to relief regulators on the low pressure pumps and a safety relief valve if I have a solenoid failure in the return switch.

I wanted to hide all the return plumbing, but the cavity was too small. You can see the return regulators and some check valves on the center bulkhead.
